More Information About Wendy

I am a latter day emerging artist who has ‘dabbled’ with both 2D and 3D work for a number of years.

I enjoy creating both figurative and semi-abstracted forms, exploring allegorical and metaphorical existential concepts – the comic, the tragic and what resonates at a deeply personal level. I work using wire, plaster, clay, stone and recycled materials.

Although I grew up in Dorset, most of my adult life was spent in the south London and Surrey area where I first began sculpting. I was a member of the Lingfield Art Group (where I worked in watercolours, pastels, pencil and ink), Bletchingley Adult Learning sculpture group and Surrey Sculpture Society. I have had no formal artistic training but have had some excellent tutors throughout my life who have both inspired and encouraged me. I regard myself as a developing artist, interested in self expression and communication rather than saleability.
