Vocal improvisation is a way of having fun with the voice without the usual hang-ups of can we / can’t we ‘sing’? – do we / don’t we have a ‘voice’?
The workshop will explore ways of making sounds by ourselves and with others. We will experiment with rhythm and harmony – just what comes naturally.
And we’ll probably do some chanting and maybe even sing a few songs, because somewhere behind the ‘assumed’ voices and the ‘given’ voices that get us through our everyday lives, there lies our True Voice.
That’s what we’ll be hoping to hear by the end of the session.

This promotion features creative people who are tutors and run classes and workshops in South Dorset.
The main venue is the Upwey Old School Village Hall, next to the Wishing Well Cafe and Water Gardens in the village of Upwey, between Weymouth and Dorchester. It is open from 10am to 6pm for nine days from 18th to 26th September, with some evening performances.
This is part of the Artwey Open Studios event, but also includes other artists from outside Weymouth and those who are not visual artists. For more details of the Artwey Open Studios follow this link.
The tutors will be displaying information about what they can offer and some will run taster sessions - so potential students can see what they can do.

Partnerships between creative people and other business can be very rewarding, by providing other complimentary services such as hospitality - accommodation or meals.
More information will be posted here as it is confirmed.
