    About Kimberley MacKeown

THE FULL GAMUT is a bright, newly renovated space and is an ideal showcase for original works by represented artists and also for special events and evening workshops. Quality baked goods and beverages are also on offer and can be enjoyed either indoors or on the patio. This inviting environment and the fabulous art featured in it will keep you coming back for more throughout the year.

Canadian-born visual artist Kimberley MacKeown has lived and worked in Weymouth since 2001. Inspired by the surrounding Dorset countryside and Weymouth’s stunning coastal position Kim works in a wide range of media depicting natural subjects and portraits. A lifelong love of art in all its forms led Kim to study fine art and art history at Queen’s University, Kingston where she majored in printmaking. Specialised work in photoplate lithography drew on Kim’s experience in photography, illustration and watercolours and resulted in her developing innovative printing techniques.
Since moving to the UK, Kim has done a number of commissions and has works in an ongoing exhibition at The Poachers Inn, Piddletrenthide (just North of Dorchester). This large series of canvases featuring detailed still life studies of individual fruits and  vegetables lends a contemporary feel to the restaurant’s historic interior. These works  are originals painted in acrylics on quality canvas and are (with a few exceptions) for sale. Interested buyers should contact the artist directly using the contact details provided on this or The Full Gamut's website.
Impressed by the number of artists working in the region and the calibre of art and  crafts that are being produced Kimberley has embarked on a new course in her art  career and has opened a small, community-oriented art gallery. Local services and  outlets for artists are extremely limited and so the new gallery will provide not only valuable market exposure but also an accessible arts networking site.
The Full Gamut is just a short walk from Weymouth harbour. Parking is free on all surrounding streets and the gallery is conveniently located at the corner of Chickerell Rd. and Prince of Wales Rd., just beyond the Rodwell Trail overpass.
When out enjoying the nearby amenities, hiking or biking along the Rodwell Trail or buying groceries down the road make a point of stopping by to see the great selection of art and gifts on show and revive with some quality refreshments. Each visit will be different and there is something for everyone. It is easy to show your support for artists in the community and it can be a lot of fun!    If art and art education matter to you then be sure to come in and discover what’s on show.
Also, remember that The Full Gamut is a participating venue in the ARTWEY Studio Tour this September. Several ARTWEY members, working in a range of media are featured alongside Ms.MacKeown in the gallery. Be sure to mark the event on your calendar and come by to join in the fun!
