Ann Howie
Each bag begins with a ball of 100% sheep’s wool,a circular needle,a compliant washing machine and lots of luck! Whatever emerges is ,usually, a felted shape which has to be tugged and teased into the bag I had been knitting.Magic has happened and then the fun begins- buttons are made, embellishments are knitted and felted, linings are sewn in and handles
attached where necessary.I also use Viking knitting and Kumihimo techniques to make some of my handles where a special effect is required.
No bag is ever the same but they are designed to be worn and ,hopefully, admired!
