Rae Melody
Rae Melody, originally from Yorkshire and currently based in Weymouth, is a contemporary British artist whose work explores the interconnection between memory, matter and environment through the lens of crystal frequencies and ancestral resonance.

Her layered, chiselled paintings investigate how grief and remembrance become embedded within the physical world - how emotion, like geology, settles into strata over time.

Educated in Surface Pattern Design and Printing in Leeds, and with a background as an art teacher, Melody’s practice bridges intuitive process with structural precision.
Her paintings are often embedded with collaged pages from books once belonging to her late cousin, forming coded sequences that echo DNA structures and the crystalline architecture of memory. Through this, she explores the environment not just as landscape, but as a living archive of human experience - where every layer holds vibration and story.

Alongside her studio practice, Melody continues to work with young people with special educational needs and some of society’s most vulnerable groups, using art as a vehicle for confidence, connection and healing.
She has delivered projects with organisations including the Royal West of England Academy, Doorway Charity for the Homeless, and Kandu, an alternative provision for teenagers.

Melody’s work has been exhibited at Messums West (Tisbury, Wiltshire), the Royal West of England Academy (Bristol), the Victoria Art Gallery (Bath) and the London Bienalle.
Her paintings are held in the Permanent Collection of Chippenham Museum and in private collections nationally and internationally. She has also exhibited with Superfine Art Fair, New York and the Art2Life International Exhibition, contributing to her growing international recognition.
